Description

About Us
Amanda & Amber Business Consulting is a boutique Human Resources firm supporting small & medium sized organizations across Canada. We are a women-founded team, with a strong emphasis on work-life harmony, community involvement & client-centered engagement. We are looking for a casual/part-time Junior HR consultant to join our growing team. This role is primarily remote, with some in-person meetings or projects. Calgary or Vancouver based applicants will be given priority due to the in-person requirement.

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent HR graduate or early-career HR professional looking to gain broad, hands-on experience in consulting. You’ll work closely with intermediate consultants, supporting clients across a wide variety of industries while also contributing to internal operations and business development.

Client & Internal Support
  • Provide HR coordination support, including onboarding, policy updates, employee letters, and maintaining HR documentation.
  • Support HRIS administration and payroll coordination for clients as needed.
  • Assist in preparing materials for client meetings, workshops, and projects.
  • Provide administrative support for both client work and internal firm operations.
Recruitment
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for A&A and client organizations, including job postings, screening, interviewing, references, and offers.
  • Maintain candidate pipelines and ensure a professional, positive candidate experience.
Business Development
  • Support business development efforts by following up with leads, maintaining CRM records, and helping manage the pipeline.
  • Engage with prospective clients to encourage interest and coordinate calls with senior consultants.
General
  • Assist with special projects, research, and other HR initiatives as assigned.
  • While most work is performed remotely, occasional in-person meetings or projects may be required.
  • Maintain a white-glove, responsive, and professional approach in all client interactions.

Our Ideal Candidate
Must-Haves
  • 0–3 years of HR experience, or completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources.
  • A strong interest in building a career in HR consulting, with a willingness to learn across all areas of HR.
  • Eager, self-driven, and comfortable working in a high-performance environment where you take initiative and seek out solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills—you can juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a remote environment (Teams, SharePoint, and other collaborative tools).
  • Availability for at least 15–20 hours per week, with at least 75% of hours overlapping with our core business hours:
  • Monday–Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm MT
  • Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm MT
Nice-to-Haves
  • Previous HR coordinator, administrator, or internship experience.
  • Experience with recruitment, HRIS maintenance, or payroll support.
  • Exposure to business development, client engagement, or CRM systems.

Why Work with Us
  • High-Performance Culture: We set the bar high and support each other to achieve it. You’ll be challenged, but also grow quickly.
  • True Flexibility: Outside of scheduled meetings, you work when and how it works for you. Life happens—we’re here for it.
